Sustainability at Blossom & Bees Studio

Sustainability at the heart of designing with nature

It is very important to me to be as sustainable as I can be as floristry can be tricky for the environment.  For dry and fresh flower displays I will year on year increase what I grow in my own garden, in 2026 will be working with local flower farmers in Sidmouth and surrounding areas and I buy from local suppliers when I need to source something I haven't been able to grow.

I recycle all plastic that is used, use natural wreaths and copper wreaths, that can be reused or recycled, if a design calls for foam I will only work with bio-degradable.

All plant material is composted in my garden, which in turn feeds the plants that I grow, if it is too woody I have areas for organic matter to degrade naturally and become a fantastic source of shelter and food for wildlife and insects.

If I work with fresh flowers for an occasion, as I say I will work with local suppliers in the first instance but if I have to ship in, I will buy from as local to UK as possible to keep the airmiles lower.
